Safari chair by Kaare Klint

Today I happened to find a vintage beauty for a real bargain: a beautiful canvas Safari Chair by Kaare Klint. I can't wait to show this chair to you (it needs to be shipped).

One of the first do-it-yourself high design pieces is the Safari chair. Made in 1933 and designed by Danish furniture designer Kaare Klint. It can easily be assembled and dissembled without using tools and all the parts are replaceable. Kaare Klint, known as the father of modern Danish furniture design, was inspired by the English officers chair he had seen in a travel guide from Africa to create a lightweight, portable armchair.
Luckily for us the chair is in production again and manufactured by: Carl Hansen & Son see here.

I love this video about the chair with its simple functionality, it has become a true modern classic: both masculine and feminine.
