OUI . OUI: Dutch Design Week & Piet Hein Eek / Ikea

How fast time flies by and you don't even realise it ..! It seems a number of months ago, but it's been a year since I was asked to blog during the Dutch Design Week. What was a joy to do with all nice fellow bloggers and what a cracking design event is the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven! Read more about the Dutch Design Week 2014 here.

Last year I realised that I need more time next year to visit the Dutch Design Week. That's why I now booked a room here. The photos that I'm sharing today (never published before) are an impression at the showroom and workspace of Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek and expositions of other Dutch Designers during the Dutch Design Week 2014. The Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek, known for its reclaimed wood furniture, will design in the coming years a large number of products for the Swedish interior design department store Ikea. Eek will create furniture for all departments at Ikea. The products will be available worldwide by his name. It's the first time that Ikea enters an intensive, long-term collaboration with a designer.

The first collection of Eek revolves around rattan material. Collaborating with designers like Eek fits into the new strategy of Ikea to integrate sophisticated, yet accessible design in the range.

This fall the stunning wanna have Sinnerlig collection is launched by the British top designer Ilse Crawford, who is by the way also (like Piet Hein Eek) Curator of the Design Academy Eindhoven.

I love all 30 pieces of this collection and I'm already immense interested in the furniture pieces Eek will make for Ikea.
