Irving Penn (June 16, 1917 - New York, October 7, 2009), known for his fashion photography, portraits (a lot of them famous) and stunning still lifes was an American photographer who became famous for his work in the fashion world. Penn worked for the magazine Vogue for a long time. He made more than 150 covers for the magazine. He also did independent advertising work for clients including Issey Miyake and Clinique.
Salvador Dali
Pablo Picasso
The exhibition is a retrospective of 70 years of his impressive work and the first one since his death in 2009 with more than 235 of his own works.
His style: minimalistic, simple, sophisticated, and full of sex appeal. Penn only shows us clear lines with just a shot of the clothes and the model. Inspirational sources were Surrealism, modern dance and film noir. From high fashion photography he made real high art..

Looks like a good excuse to go to Paris!
